The skirt is more of an A-line skirt, so it doesn't have the tendency to flip up or twirl like a fuller, gathered skirt would. If the waistline fits somewhat snuggly (though a tight fit isn't necessary) the swimsuit will stay in place and not shift around or come up. The leggings are high rise in the waistline. The skirt floats just slightly underneath the water, but tends to move with the body and stay contained and modest. The skirt is very light-weight and doesn't hinder movement--even for active swimming! Our swimsuits have the look and coverage of a one-piece, yet the comfort and flexibility of a two-piece!
We prefer that all orders be placed through the website or by email crystal@modest-swimwear.net because we are not able to accept credit card payments over the phone right now. However, you can use your credit card to send payment! We accept echecks or credit card payment through PayPal (and you won't need a PayPal account to do that!) It is quick, easy and secure. But if you still would rather not pay online, an International Money Order (made out to my name: Crystal Huyben) can be used to send payment.
Once we receive an order and payment, we start working on the swimsuit right away and usually can have it completed in a a few days, or up to a week and a half! (If you are placing an order for a few swimsuits, it shouldn't take that much longer.) If you do need the swimsuit by a certain date, let us know, and we would be happy to do whatever we can to have it to you as soon as possible!
--However, May to August are our busiest months and please be patient with us if it takes longer! We do our best to have all orders shipped as soon as possible. If you need the swimsuit by a certain date please consider choosing faster shipping!--
Sewing your own swimsuit isn't just for the accomplished seamstress! If you have basic sewing knowledge and a willingness to try something new, you can do it yourself! We have had many customers tell us how surprised they were to find out how fast and simple it was to make a swimsuit from the pattern--even though they had never worked with swimwear before. The fabric is just slipperier, so pin the seams well and go slowly. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have while sewing! The invoice is a PayPal invoice (though you won't need a PayPal account to use this invoice) and will arrive at the email address you provided us with in your order. We are usually able to send the invoice to you as soon as we receive your order, but if you placed your order at the end of the week, you may not receive your invoice until after the weekend. If your invoice hasn't arrived yet, it could be that there was a spelling mistake in the email address that you gave us or that your spam or junk mail filter is blocking the invoice. If you think this may be the problem, please send us an email and include your phone number so that we have another option of contacting you in case our emails aren't getting through.
Once we receive a pattern order, we are usually able to have it shipped out in a day or after we receive your order (except on weekends). The patterns are shipped by Airmail shipping which takes around 4 to 10 business days to the USA. We are located in Ontario, Canada. If you need the pattern sooner than that, please email us with your order and request Xpress shipping (3 to 5 business days) or Purolator shipping (1 or 2 business days).
There is no maternity or nursing options included in the pattern and we don't currently offer a maternity pattern (though we hope to in the future!) We do offer our custom made swimsuits altered for maternity (the prices are the same as plus size swimsuits). If you would like to order a maternity custom made swimsuit, please click here and let us know in the 'Notes' section that you are ordering a maternity swimsuit.
Note: We currently do not offer nursing options on our custom made swimsuits. We have had customers tell us that these swimsuits worked very well for nursing discreetly at the pool side! Since the leggings are made separate from the skirt and bodice, they were able to easily nurse underneath the skirt.
Yes, we do sell the leggings separately in solid or floral fabrics! To order, please fill out the form on our Custom Made Swimsuits page and specify in the Notes section that you are ordering only the leggings. The price is $35 for ladies' sizes, $30 for girl's sizes, and $25 for children's sizes (if ordering leggings longer than 25", $3 extra will be charged). These leggings work great for wearing under skirts as well for modesty while exercizing, playing sports or climbing trees! :)
